Vibrant Forest Brewery Pupa reimagines the classic American Pale Ale as a bridge between coastal styles, emphasizing a synergy between modern hops and expressive yeast. The addition of oats creates a soft, luxurious texture that elevates the sensory experience beyond its sessionable strength. Expect a vibrant bouquet of tropical fruit aromas—mango, passion fruit, and guava—that dance alongside subtle fermentation esters. The palate mirrors this aromatic intensity, offering a juicy profile with intentionally restrained bitterness that allows the lush fruit character to shine. Clean and highly approachable, it finishes with a lingering, succulent fruitiness that remains soft on the palate.

Appearance. Pale golden (approx. 6 SRM) with a slight haze from the oat addition. Features a moderately large, creamy white head with good retention and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of mango, pineapple, and passion fruit. Low neutral, grainy maltiness is present, supported by moderate fruity esters from the yeast. A faint bready, creamy scent from the oats adds depth.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit flavors, including guava and citrus. The malt profile is low and supportive with light bready notes. Very low bitterness for the style allows the hop flavor to dominate. The fermentation profile is clean but shows noticeable fruity yeast character that complements the hops. The finish is long, juicy, and clean without any harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable silkiness and creaminess provided by the oats. Carbonation is moderate. No alcohol warmth is perceived, and there is zero astringency, resulting in a smooth, soft mouthfeel.
