NEIPA - New England IPA 4.5 º
Leyana is a vibrant Hazy IPA that marries a sessionable 4.5% ABV with intense aromatic depth. The sensory experience is led by a bright, citrus-forward profile driven by Summit hops, which transitions into a lush, tropical mid-palate featuring notes of mango and passionfruit from Citra. Fermentation with London Fog yeast imparts joyous fruity esters that harmonize with the hop oils, creating a juicy impression. Despite its lower gravity, it maintains the hallmark soft, opaque appearance and a smooth, rounded mouthfeel that finishes with a gentle, restrained bitterness and a clean, citrusy aftertaste.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (3-5 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine and no visible particulates. Topped by a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by pungent grapefruit and lemon zest from Summit hops, complemented by tropical pineapple and stone fruit from Citra. The London Fog yeast contributes subtle peach and pear esters. Malt is low and bready, providing a neutral backdrop.
Taste. The initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit. Hop flavors of lime and mango are prominent. Malt flavor is low, suggesting light grain and crackers. Bitterness is low to medium-low, well-integrated and never harsh. The London Fog yeast esters enhance the fruitiness. Finishes off-dry and soft with a lingering citrus note.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Smooth and soft on the palate with no hop astringency. Very low alcohol warmth, consistent with its sessionable strength.
