Strong esters of dark dried fruits, notably plum, raisin, and fig, are intertwined with spicy phenols reminiscent of black pepper and clove. A soft, perfumy alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, while hops are absent.
Taste. Initial impression is rich, sweet, and malty, with prominent flavors of dark caramel, molasses, and dark cherries. A complex wave of peppery and herbal spices emerges in the mid-palate. Low hop bitterness is balanced beautifully by the alcohol.
