Vericcio Mr Breakfast is a beautifully crafted Oatmeal Stout that wraps the senses in comforting morning aromas and textures. This dark brew showcases a deeply roasty profile, mingling rich aromas of freshly brewed coffee and dark milk chocolate with a gentle undertone of dark fruit, reminiscent of sweet raisins. The addition of oatmeal provides an incredibly smooth, velvety mouthfeel, backing up the moderate sweetness and clean roasted malt character. A soft earthy hop presence acts as a quiet supporter, leading to a satisfyingly dry finish where robust toasted grains and lingering dark-roast coffee flavors dominate the palate.
Appearance. Deep brown to nearly opaque black in color. Topped with a thick, rich, creamy, and highly persistent tan-colored head that leaves dense lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of roasted grains, reminiscent of fresh-brewed coffee and dark milk chocolate, with a sweet cream-like malt backbone. Low yeast-derived esters of dark fruit, specifically raisin, are present. Hop aroma is very low and earthy, with no noticeable diacetyl.
Taste. The initial impression is of gentle sweetness, quickly followed by rich flavors of dark chocolate and sweet raisin. The mid-palate introduces a robust roasted character, balancing the sweet malt. Hop bitterness is moderate, providing a solid counterpoint. The finish is medium-dry, dominated by a lingering, pleasant aftertaste of toasted grain and strong black coffee.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a characteristically slick, velvety, and exceptionally smooth texture derived from the oatmeal. Carbonation is moderate. No hot alcohol warmth, just a subtle, comforting presence. Extremely low astringency.
