Verdant Brewing Co

Slanted Tones is a vibrant Hazy IPA that showcases Verdant’s signature approach to the New England style. This collaboration with Unity delivers a saturated profile driven by experimental hops. The aromatic intensity is immediate, bursting with a complex array of overripe tropical fruits like mango and papaya, underpinned by a sharp, pithy citrus finish. A signature soft, pillowy mouthfeel provides a luxurious canvas for the juicy hop character, while a restrained bitterness ensures high drinkability. It is a modern, yeast-forward ale that balances lush fruit esters with a clean, bready malt base and a soft, glowing appearance.

Appearance. Deep straw to light gold (4-6 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a brilliant shine; crowned by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and thick lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by massive tropical fruit notes of mango, passionfruit, and guava. Secondary notes of orange zest and grapefruit juice. Background malt is clean and bready, reminiscent of raw grain or flaked oats. Esters are fruity and well-integrated with the hop profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a juice-like explosion of tropical fruit. Prominent flavors of pineapple and tangerine lead into a subtle citrus-peel finish. Low-to-moderate bitterness is soft and never harsh, providing just enough structure to the fruit. Malt provides a neutral, lightly doughy support. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth with no hop burn.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a characteristically soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated. Zero astringency or raw starch texture.
