This Double IPA pours with a striking, opaque orange glow, reminiscent of a satsuma submerged in heavy cream. The aromatic profile is saturated with the pungent, dank character of Mosaic, coupled with the intense tropical reach of Galaxy and the stone-fruit depth of Azacca. Layers of ripe mango and fuzzy apricot collide with a sharp, freshly cut grass note. Despite its 8% strength, the beer maintains a luscious, velvety texture that carries the immense hop load through a firm but integrated bitterness, finishing with a persistent, resinous fruit signature that defines the modern interpretation of the style.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (6-8 SRM). Opaque and heavily hazy with a thick, persistent, creamy off-white head that leaves dense lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent tropical fruit (passionfruit, mango), stone fruit (apricot), and a distinct dank, resinous complexity. Background notes of citrus peel and freshly cut grass are supported by a neutral, grainy malt character and a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Explosive hop flavors of mango, mixed berries, and apricot dominate the initial impression. A mid-palate dankness provides complexity against a soft, unobtrusive malt backbone. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but lacks harshness, leading to a medium-dry finish with a long, resinous aftertaste of tropical fruit and citrus.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, soft, and coating texture. Moderate carbonation. A smooth, restrained alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
