Now We Are Here is a powerful Double IPA that showcases an intense hop profile driven by Citra, Galaxy, and Chinook. The aroma is a saturated blend of tropical passionfruit and bright citrus, grounded by a subtle resinous pine. On the palate, the experience is defined by a soft, luscious texture and a massive mouthfeel that belies its 8% ABV strength. Flavors of peach and melon transition into a firm, clean bitterness, supported by a neutral, grainy malt backbone. This beverage balances modern fruit-forward hop intensity with the classic, assertive structure expected of the style, finishing dry with a lingering, resinous hop presence.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (approx. 7-9 SRM). Pours with a thick, persistent, off-white head that leaves dense lacing. Features a moderate to heavy haze, consistent with a modern, heavily dry-hopped profile.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Dominant notes of passionfruit, peach, and citrus from the Galaxy and Citra hops are complemented by a distinct resinous pine and grapefruit zest from the Chinook. Background malt is clean and neutral with a slight bready character.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical and stone fruits. High hop bitterness is present but well-integrated, lacking harshness. Mid-palate reveals light crackery malt. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, lingering aftertaste of resinous hops and citrus peel. Features a clean fermentation profile with low esters.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate. A gentle, smooth alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the massive mouthfeel without being solventy or hot.
