This Hazy IPA, a collaboration between Verdant and BeerRiff, captures the vibrant intensity of hand-selected New Zealand hops. It pours with a characteristically opaque, glowing appearance. High-intensity aromas of zesty limes and succulent pineapples lead a tropical profile, supported by an underlying assortment of dank fruits. The mouthfeel is exceptionally soft and pillowy, typical of the brewery’s house style, carrying waves of crushed tropical fruit across the palate with restrained bitterness. This juice-forward profile celebrates the unique citrus and tropical depth of New Zealand varieties, balanced by a clean, bready malt backbone and a smooth, lingering finish.
Appearance. Deep straw to light gold (5-6 SRM) with an opaque, luminous haze. Features a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and heavy lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma featuring dominant notes of fresh lime zest, ripe pineapple, and a heavy, resinous dankness. Low, bready malt sweetness in the background with supportive fruity fermentation esters; no detectable alcohol or sulfur.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavor echoing the aroma with lime and pineapple juice. Low, neutral, grainy malt flavor provides a soft foundation. Bitterness is moderate-low and very smooth, lacking any harshness or hop bite. The finish is off-dry to medium, lingering with tropical fruit notes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body with a soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. No astringency, hop burn, or harshness, with a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
