This celebratory Hazy IPA showcases a vibrant collaboration between Verdant and Uchu, blending intense hop character with a bright fruit infusion. A heavy-handed application of Citra and Mosaic hops, used across both the hot and cold sides of production, delivers a saturated profile of overripe mango, passion fruit, and sweet pineapple. The addition of Yuzu juice provides a distinct, zesty citric edge that cuts through the soft, bready malt base. Expect an opaque, glowing appearance and a plush, velvety mouthfeel, concluding with a delicate tartness that enhances the beer’s tropical intensity and refreshing, juicy drinkability.
Appearance. Glowing straw to deep gold with a prominent, opaque haze that creates a luminous shine. Pours with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head exhibiting exceptional retention and leaving thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity featuring a massive bouquet of tropical stone fruits, specifically crushed mango and guava from the Mosaic. Pronounced notes of grapefruit and lime zest from the Citra are amplified by the sharp, floral, and aromatic citric spray of fresh Yuzu. The background provides a clean, neutral, and slightly doughy malt character.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of juicy tropical fruit and bright citrus. Lush flavors of pineapple and tangerine lead into a specific, slightly tart citric note from the Yuzu juice. Hop bitterness is low to moderate, providing just enough structure to balance the soft, bready malt. The finish is off-dry and smooth, lacking any hop harshness, with a lingering aftertaste of citrus pith.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth mouthfeel without any carbonic bite. A very subtle, refreshing acidity from the fruit addition is present, but the beer remains free of astringency or harsh alcohol warmth.
