This non-alcoholic Hazy IPA presents a vibrant bouquet of tropical fruit and zesty citrus, driven by the heavy-handed use of Citra, Amarillo, and Simcoe hops. Lush notes of mango and peach meld seamlessly with a refreshing lemon-lime brightness. A unique twist comes from the addition of black pepper tea, which introduces a subtle, earthy spice that cuts through the juicy hop profile. Appearance. Straw to pale gold (3-5 SRM). Opaque and hazy with a characteristic shine. Thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent mango and pineapple from Citra, peach and apricot from Amarillo, and a touch of grapefruit zest from Simcoe. The malt is a subtle background of bready, neutral grain. A distinct, piquant note of earthy black pepper provides a spicy, sophisticated layer that complements the fruit.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy tropical and stone fruits. The malt flavor is low and lightly bready. Hop bitterness is moderate but soft, never harsh. The addition of black pepper provides a gentle, spicy warmth and depth on the mid-palate. Finishes off-dry to medium-dry with a lingering citrus and light peppery aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate. While alcohol warmth is absent due to the low ABV, a unique, gentle warmth from the black pepper provides a pleasant tactile sensation. No astringency or harshness.
