The yeast imparts distinctive orange and stone fruit esters that brighten the sensory experience. Despite its dark color, the beer avoids heavy roast, offering instead a delicate backdrop of toasted malt and light chocolate. The hop profile is assertive, delivering tropical and citrus notes that lead into a firm bitterness. It finishes dry and clean, making for a refreshing, hop-forward experience that balances its smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Appearance. Dark brown to black color (30 SRM). It is clear with a persistent, light tan head of moderate size that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring tropical fruit, citrus, and resinous pine. Moderate fruity esters of orange and peach from the Norwegian kveik yeast are prominent. Low malt notes of toast and light coffee provide a subtle, supportive background without any burnt character.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of citrus and melon. The malt flavor is low to medium, offering restrained chocolate and toasted notes that do not clash with the hops. Fermentation is characterized by kveik-driven fruitiness. It features a firm bitterness and a dry finish with a clean, lingering hoppy aftertaste and a touch of light roast.
Mouthfeel. Smooth, medium body with moderate carbonation. Very light alcohol warmth is appropriate for its strength, with a lack of astringency providing high drinkability.
