Vandenbroek Brut Olasz is a sophisticated fusion of traditional Gueuze-style complexity and the elegant, vinous profile of spontaneously fermented Olasz Riesling must. This Fruit Lambic opens with an expressive bouquet of white grape, mineral-driven acidity, and the characteristic barnyard funk of aged Lambic. The palate is defined by a sharp, cleansing lactic tartness that interplays with notes of orchard fruit and a distinct floral character from the Olasz Riesling. It finishes remarkably dry and effervescent, with a lingering vinous depth and a subtle, well-integrated warmth that reflects its 8% strength, bridging the gap between fine sparkling wine and traditional spontaneous ales.

Appearance. Presents a pale straw to golden color (4-6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It pours with a lively, mousse-like white head that dissipates into a thin, persistent ring with light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics of fermented white grapes and vinous acidity. A profound Brettanomyces presence offers notes of hay, wet wool, and barnyard funk. Subtle aged hop earthiness and a faint floral malt sweetness provide a secondary layer behind the dominant fruit.

Taste. Initial sharp, puckering lactic sourness followed by the complex flavor of Olasz Riesling grapes, including green apple and citrus zest. The old Lambic base contributes a dry, woody depth and earthy funk. Finishes bone-dry with a clean, lingering acidity and no significant hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high, sparkling carbonation that creates a prickly, refreshing sensation. A noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, complementing the tartness without being harsh.
