Urban Artifact Teak is an explosive Tropical American Fruit Tart that defines the Wild Specialty Beer style through its massive fruit integration. A saturated, coral-hued pour leads into an aromatic profile dominated by the punchy, musky sweetness of Pink Guava and the bright, acidic zip of Key Lime. Succulent Pineapple provides a fleshy, tropical mid-palette depth that balances the sharp lactic acidity characteristic of the brewery's house style. Despite the high fruit concentration, the fermentation remains clean yet complex, finishing exceptionally crisp and dry. It is a bold, sensory-forward experience where the fruit’s natural tartness and the base beer's wild character harmonize into a refreshing, vibrant profile.
Appearance. Opaque, hazy coral-pink with golden highlights (SRM 5-7). Pours with a moderate, frothy light-pink head that shows fair to poor retention, typical of high-fruit beers, leaving minimal lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of tropical Pink Guava and fresh Key Lime zest. A moderate pineapple sweetness provides a sun-ripened fruit core. Clean lactic sourness is evident, with very low funk and no detectable hop aroma or malt character.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply tart and refreshing. Intense flavors of fermented guava and pineapple dominate, followed by a piercing lime citrus acidity. Malt is minimal, providing only a thin cracker-like support. Hop bitterness is nearly nonexistent. The finish is remarkably dry and tart, with lingering tropical fruit oils and a clean, puckering aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a slightly creamy texture from the heavy fruit load. High carbonation provides a lively, scrubbing effect on the palate. At 7.2% ABV, there is a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Low astringency from fruit skins.
