This Hazy IPA captures a vibrant tropical profile through a sophisticated hop blend. A collaborative effort with Bale Breaker, it showcases an intense sensory character driven by Citra and Citra Cryo, delivering bright waves of grapefruit and mango. Mosaic Dynaboost and Simcoe provide depth with layers of passionfruit and subtle resinous pine, while the experimental HBC 1019 adds unique, lush touches of melon and stone fruit. The experience is defined by a soft, pillowy texture and a juicy finish that balances restrained bitterness with a supportive, grainy malt backbone, creating a highly aromatic and drinkable modern Hazy IPA.
Appearance. Pours a hazy, glowing straw to pale gold (4-5 SRM) with a luminous, opaque quality. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that demonstrates high retention and leaves persistent lacing.
Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical and citrus fruit. Vibrant notes of mango, passionfruit, and tangerine take center stage, supported by stone fruit and honeydew melon. Malt is low but provides a clean, lightly bready and grainy foundation. Fermentation is clean with subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of juicy tropical fruit, including pineapple and citrus zest. Bitterness is low to medium-low and exceptionally smooth, allowing hop flavors to lead. A soft, grainy malt sweetness balances the palate, while the hop blend contributes a complex peach and berry-like character. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth, but no harshness, astringency, or raw starch texture.
