This Hazy Double IPA showcases a vibrant tropical and citrus profile driven by a complex blend of Amarillo, Azacca, and African Queen hops. The aroma is dominated by intense waves of stone fruit, overripe mango, and a distinct berry-like sweetness. On the palate, Amarillo contributes its signature orange zest and floral notes, while Azacca adds layers of pineapple and spice. The African Queen hops introduce unique blackcurrant and lemongrass nuances. Despite its 8% strength, the beer maintains high drinkability with a soft, pillowy texture and a clean, supportive malt backbone that balances the firm, lingering bitterness.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (7–9 SRM); opaque, uniform haze typical of the hazy variant; thick, persistent off-white head with dense lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy notes of mango, pineapple, and citrus peel from Amarillo and Azacca. Hints of dark berries and melon from African Queen. Low, neutral, grainy malt support with very light peachy esters and a clean, well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Bold, complex hop flavors of orange marmalade, tropical fruit punch, and subtle resin. Moderately high bitterness that provides structure without harshness. Soft, bready malt sweetness is present initially but fades into a medium-dry finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit pith and berry.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Medium carbonation. Notable but gentle alcohol warmth. No harsh astringency.
