Uncommon Path Brewing

Star Maps is a vibrant, modern American IPA that leans into the classic West Coast ethos with a clean, hop-saturated profile. This ale showcases the intense, citrusy depth of Citra and Cryo Citra, delivering bright grapefruit and lime notes alongside the multi-dimensional tropical fruit and stone fruit character of Cryo Pop. At 8% ABV, the malt provides a lean, grainy backbone that remains supportive without obstructing the high hop intensity. It finishes crisp and dry with a lingering resinous bitterness, embodying a focused and aromatic experience that highlights advanced hop processing techniques.

Appearance. Brilliant gold to light amber clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing as it recedes.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring punchy grapefruit and lemon zest from the Citra hops, layered with tropical notes of pineapple and stone fruit from the Cryo Pop blend. A low, clean, grainy malt sweetness underpins the aromatics, with a very subtle floral ester profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.

Taste. Initial impression is decidedly hop-forward, leading with intense citrus and tropical fruit flavors. Malt character is low and clean, providing a crisp, neutral breadiness. The bitterness is firm and clean, characteristic of the style. The finish is dry and crisp, leaving a lingering aftertaste of resin and citrus peel with very low fermentation esters.
