This American IPA presents a vibrant sensory profile defined by a trio of expressive hops. The Krush hops lead the charge with intense tropical aromatics of mango and guava, complemented by the resinous pine and subtle berry notes of Simcoe. Classic Cascade integrates a bright grapefruit citrus and light floral lift. The sensory experience is shaped by an assertive bitterness that cuts through a lean, grainy malt backbone, ensuring the hop character remains the focus. It finishes crisp and decidedly dry, leaving a lingering trail of citrus zest and forest resin on the palate, making for a refreshing yet complex hop-forward experience.
Appearance. Deep gold color (SRM 8) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, off-white, frothy head that exhibits good persistence and leaves light lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit, specifically mango and lychee, alongside resinous pine, grapefruit pith, and a touch of floral spice. The malt aroma is low and clean, providing a neutral grainy base without significant caramel or toast.
Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward, bursting with stone fruit, citrus, and coniferous resin. High bitterness is clean and sharp, balancing a low, grainy malt flavor. Fermentation is neutral, allowing the Krush and Simcoe qualities to shine. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste of citrus rind and pine.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
