This Double IPA delivers an intense sensory experience described as 'pure hop octane.' A potent blend of Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Azacca hops creates a wall-to-wall vibrancy of tropical fruit, citrus, and resinous pine. The grist, featuring Pilsner, Wheat, Caramel, and Oats, provides a soft, substantial body that supports the 8% alcohol strength while maintaining a 'crushable' drinkability. Expect a saturated 'juice bomb' character where the lush mango and pineapple notes of Mosaic and Azacca are sharpened by Simcoe's dankness. The finish is clean and assertive, leaving a lingering hop resonance against a smooth, grainy malt backdrop.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-10 SRM) with a distinct, soft haze from the wheat and oats. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma showcasing prominent tropical fruit (mango, papaya), citrus (grapefruit, lime), and a resinous, piney undertone. Background malt is low and neutral with a slight bready sweetness; fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of pineapple, passion fruit, and citrus zest lead the palate. Bitterness is firm and moderately high (60 IBU) but smooth, never reaching harshness. A supportive, soft malt character from the pilsner and oats provides balance, while the finish is medium-dry with a lingering, vibrant hoppy aftertaste. Alcohol is present but clean.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture attributed to the oat and wheat additions. Carbonation is moderate-high. A gentle, integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but refined, with no hop-derived astringency.
