As the 2023 edition of the 'People's Beer' project, this Hazy IPA from Ugar Brewery presents a luminous, opaque golden appearance. Utilizing specialized YeastFlow yeast, the sensory profile is defined by a lush, estery fruitiness that integrates seamlessly with an intense hop character. The aroma is a concentrated bouquet of tropical pineapple, mango, and bright citrus zest. On the palate, the experience is decidedly 'juicy,' featuring stone fruit notes and a soft, pillowy malt backbone of light bread. The finish is smooth and off-dry, with a restrained bitterness that ensures high drinkability while maintaining the style's signature full-bodied, silky texture.
Appearance. SRM 4-6. Opaque, straw-to-deep-yellow with a hazy shine. Thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring tropical mango, pineapple, and citrus. Supported by a light bready, grainy malt character. Noticeable fruity esters from the YeastFlow fermentation that complement the hop oils; no grassy or herbal notes.
Taste. High tropical and stone fruit hop flavors. Low to medium malt presence with doughy and lightly bready notes. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft mouthfeel, lacking any harshness or 'hop burn.' Off-dry finish with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and rounded texture. Moderate carbonation. A subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being hot or fusel.
