This vibrant Double IPA resonates with an intense, multi-layered hop profile driven by the specific use of Citra, Mosaic, Strata, and Cryo Citra. The addition of oats creates a silky canvas for high-intensity aromatics of mandarin orange, ripe mango, and fresh blueberry. On the palate, the fresh Coleman Hops deliver a concentrated tropical punch balanced by a firm, clean bitterness characteristic of the style. Despite its 8.5% strength, the finish remains remarkably dry and approachable, highlighting a clean fermentation and the bright, resinous qualities of the air-freighted pellets. It is a harmonious, sensory-focused expression of modern hop-forward brewing.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM) with a slight, persistent haze. Features a moderate-sized, creamy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by citrus (mandarin), tropical fruit (mango), and berry (blueberry) notes. The malt character is low, clean, and grainy, providing a neutral background for the potent American hop character.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of mango, orange zest, and blueberry. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but remains smooth and well-integrated. The malt profile is soft and unobtrusive with light bready notes. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from the oat addition. Carbonation is moderate-high. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present, providing a pleasant glow without harshness.
