This potent Triple IPA bursts with a high-intensity hop profile driven by Citra, Motueka, Cascade, and Nelson Sauvin. The sensory experience is dominated by vibrant layers of lime, zesty grapefruit, and sweet melon, with the Nelson Sauvin contributing a sophisticated white grape essence. Despite its 9.5% ABV, the beer maintains high drinkability through a clean, neutral malt backbone supported by oats for a silky texture. This Double IPA variant balances an aggressive hop charge with a smooth, resinous finish, capturing the essence of a celestial nebula through its complex, tropical-forward character and integrated alcohol warmth.
Appearance. Deep hazy gold to light orange; moderate-sized, persistent white head with fine lacing; opaque to very hazy appearance due to heavy dry-hopping and oat content.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring lime, grapefruit zest, and crushed gooseberry from Motueka and Nelson Sauvin. Citra adds sweet orange and mango notes. Low, neutral grainy malt sweetness in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. Initial impression is a blast of tropical fruit and citrus—specifically lime and grapefruit. The bitterness is firm but balanced by a soft malt presence. Nelson Sauvin provides a dry, white-wine-like complexity. Finishes dry to medium-dry with a lingering, resinous hop character and clean alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture from the addition of oats. Moderate carbonation. Notable but well-integrated alcohol warmth without harshness or solvent notes. Low astringency.
