This Hazy Pale Ale centers on a vibrant, citrus-forward profile driven by the synergy of yuzu juice and Citra hops. The addition of Cryo Citra intensifies the aromatic impact, delivering layers of fresh lemon, grapefruit, and lime. Its hazy appearance suggests a soft, pillowy texture from the inclusion of oats, which supports a moderate malt backbone without overshadowing the fruit. Appearance. SRM 4-6. Hazy pale gold to straw. Thick, fluffy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing. Opaque to very hazy appearance resulting from the oat additions and yuzu juice.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by sharp, aromatic yuzu citrus, backed by Citra hop notes of grapefruit peel, lime zest, and a hint of tropical mango. Low grainy malt sweetness provides a light bready background. Clean fermentation profile with minimal esters.
Taste. An initial burst of tart yuzu and vibrant lemon-lime citrus. Moderate hop bitterness provides a structural backbone. Hop flavors of grapefruit and light resin from Citra and Cryo Citra meld with a subtle, bready malt presence. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering citrus zest aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a noticeably soft, creamy texture from the oats. Moderate to high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing prickly sensation. Low alcohol warmth. No astringency despite the high citrus presence.
