Paradiso Passion Fruit Wit is a vibrant take on the traditional Witbier, blending classic bready malt with an exotic, tropical twist. The inclusion of cloudy passion fruit juice enhances the zesty orange and coriander profile with a tangy, tart intensity. A significant portion of unmalted wheat provides a smooth foundation, supporting the bold fruit character without sacrificing the style's signature refreshing finish. Effervescent and bright, this wheat ale balances delicate herbal spice with the lush, mouth-watering acidity of passion fruit, resulting in a complex yet accessible summer refresher that remains crisp and dry on the palate.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (3-4 SRM). Significant cloudiness from both the unmalted wheat and the addition of passion fruit juice, creating a milky, opaque appearance. Topped with a dense, white, moussy head with excellent retention.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh, tropical passion fruit dominates the nose. Beneath the fruit, moderate bready maltiness and light notes of honey are present. Subtle spicy-herbal coriander and zesty citrus peel aromatics blend into the background, with no perceptible hop aroma.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, tangy burst of passion fruit. This is followed by a pleasant bready and grainy malt flavor. The herbal-spicy coriander and citrusy orange notes are moderate and well-integrated. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough support to balance the fruit's acidity. The finish is refreshingly crisp and dry with a lingering tropical tang.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a distinct smoothness and light creaminess from the wheat. High carbonation creates a lively, effervescent character. Very refreshing, with no harshness or alcohol warmth despite the added fruit intensity.
