This Cold IPA-style American IPA presents a strikingly lean and bright profile, driven by a 30% rice adjunct and a clean German lager yeast fermentation. The sensory experience is dominated by a vibrant hop trio: Cascade and Columbus cryo provide classic layers of resinous pine and biting grapefruit, while the Zumo hop variety introduces an intense, tangy orange zest and citrus peel brightness. Remarkably crisp and dry, it emphasizes a high hop-to-malt ratio, ensuring the citrus and evergreen notes remain sharp and focused. The finish is exceptionally clean, defined by a firm bitterness and an effervescent, thirst-quenching snap.
Appearance. Pale gold to medium gold (6-8 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a frothy, long-lasting white head and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit pith, fresh pine resin, and zesty orange. Very low, clean, cracker-like maltiness with no detectable fermentation esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is a sharp hop-forward palate of tangy citrus and orange zest. Medium-high bitterness is clean and precise. The malt flavor is neutral and light, allowing the resinous pine and grapefruit notes to dominate. The finish is bone-dry and crisp with a lingering citrus peel aftertaste.
