Two Flints Brewery Coasting
Coasting is an expressive Hazy IPA that captures a vibrant New Zealand hop profile through a collaboration of expertise. The use of Superdelic hops delivers punchy notes of sweet berries and ripe mango, while Riwaka, Riwaka hop kief, and Motueka contribute zingy passionfruit and lime citrus highlights. A generous addition of chit malt provides a characteristic soft, pillowy texture, yet an intentionally lower finishing gravity ensures the beer remains exceptionally drinkable rather than cloying. Expect an aromatic explosion of tropical fruit supported by a clean, grainy malt backbone. This beer presents a harmonious balance between intense hop saturation and a smooth, refreshing finish.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3–6 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy glow. Features a thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring layers of tropical mango, sharp passionfruit, and distinct sweet red berries. Secondary notes of lime and citrus zest. The malt remains in the background as a neutral, lightly grainy, and doughy character. No caramel or toast is present.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with juicy mango and berry sweetness balanced by zingy passionfruit. Malt flavor is low and bread-like. Perceived bitterness is moderate but feels soft and restrained on the palate. The finish is off-dry and clean, with a lingering tropical hop aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable softness and smooth, pillowy texture from the chit malt. Carbonation is moderate. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without any astringency or raw grain harshness.
