Interstellar Overdrive is a punchy Double IPA that balances intense modern hop character with remarkable drinkability. The sensory profile is dominated by a dank, tropical fruit punch presence driven by Strata, leading into layers of exotic stone fruit. On the palate, Idaho 7 introduces complex notes of papaya and sun-ripened apricot, accented by a distinctive, herbal black tea undertone. The experience concludes with a smooth, citrus-forward finish characteristic of Citra. A supportive, neutral malt backbone ensures the hops remain the focal point, while a well-integrated 8% ABV provides a clean, warming presence that complements the dry, refreshing finish.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (8-10 SRM). Displays good clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent dank resin and tropical fruit punch. Notes of passion fruit and mango are layered with apricot, papaya, and a subtle earthy, herbal black tea quality. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of tropical fruit and resinous hop flavors. Mid-palate highlights of apricot and papaya transition into a firm, moderately high bitterness that remains smooth rather than harsh. Low, soft malt character provides a clean canvas. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering citrus and tea-like aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A restrained, clean alcohol warmth is present, without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
