Twinberg Kartel reimagines the traditional German Pils by infusing a sessionable 4.2% ABV frame with the vibrant character of New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin hops. This brilliant, straw-colored lager leads with an aromatic punch of crushed gooseberries and white wine grapes, seamlessly layered over a delicate foundation of cracker-like Pilsner malt. The palate is defined by a clean fermentation profile and a firm, refreshing bitterness that accentuates the beer’s crisp, dry finish. While maintaining the structured elegance of a classic pilsner, the addition of Nelson Sauvin introduces a modern, fruity complexity that lingers pleasantly alongside a subtle, flinty minerality.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (SRM 3); brilliant clarity with a creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to moderately-high intensity with a primary hop character of white wine, gooseberry, and passionfruit. Supporting malt notes of low grainy sweetness, dough, and toasted cracker. Exceptionally clean lager fermentation profile with a subtle mineral edge.
Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor is quickly overtaken by a prominent hop profile featuring crushed grapes and tropical fruit. Medium-high bitterness is firm and clean, leading into a very dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste lingers with a refreshing blend of hop resin and light cracker malt.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Crisp and refreshing without any harshness; exhibits a light, flinty sharpness that enhances the dry finish. No alcohol warmth.
