Triple Point Brewing

Astral is a visually striking Foreign Extra Stout, appearing midnight black beneath a persistent, star-like tan head. The complex grist of ten different grains creates a sophisticated sensory experience, where deep layers of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans take center stage. These rich, malt-driven notes are complemented by a smooth, refined finish that highlights the intricate grain bill. While the roast remains prominent, it avoids harshness, offering a harmonious balance between earthy bitterness and subtle dark fruit esters. The result is a sessionable yet robust stout that emphasizes textural elegance and a lingering, clean roasted character.

Appearance. Opaque, black as night (40 SRM). Features a large, creamy tan to light brown head with excellent retention and fine-beaded lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominated by roasted malt notes of espresso and bittersweet chocolate. Subtle background hints of dark dried fruit and a faint, earthy hop presence. Very clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a firm roastiness followed by rich cocoa and coffee flavors. Bitterness is medium-high but well-integrated, balancing the malt sweetness. The ten-grain bill provides a multi-layered malt depth without astringency. Finishes moderately dry with lingering chocolate.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a surprisingly smooth, creamy texture from the varied grain bill. Moderate carbonation. Despite the style reference, the low alcohol provides no perceptible warmth, contributing to high drinkability.
