This Fruit Beer, built on a refreshing Witbier base, offers a delicate interplay between orchard and exotic fruits. The aroma is led by the soft, floral perfume of ripe pear, closely followed by the subtle tartness of pomegranate. Its pale straw body, veiled in a characteristic wheat haze, supports a creamy, white head. On the palate, the grainy sweetness of unmalted wheat provides a canvas for the pomegranate’s bright, slightly acidic snap and the pear’s mellow juiciness. A whisper of yeast-derived spice—light clove and citrus—complements the fruit, finishing clean, dry, and exceptionally effervescent for maximum sessionability.
Appearance. Pale straw (SRM 3) with a very faint pinkish hue from the pomegranate. Exhibits a persistent, dense white head with fine lacing. Appearance is hazy and translucent, characteristic of its wheat-based origins.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity. Dominant notes of fresh pear skin and sweet pomegranate nectar. The base beer contributes soft, bready wheat and light peppery phenols. Hop aroma is very low, allowing the esters of the fruit to lead, accompanied by a faint citrusy yeast character.
Taste. Initial impression is fruity and bright. A soft, bready malt sweetness is quickly balanced by the tart, tangy character of pomegranate. The pear adds a rounded, fleshy fruit sweetness in the mid-palate. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough structure to keep the finish crisp. Subtle spicy yeast complexity lingers in the background. The finish is dry with a light, refreshing fruit acidity.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that provides a prickly, refreshing effervescence. Alcohol warmth is negligible. The wheat provides a light creaminess, while the pomegranate adds a very subtle, pleasant tannic astringency to the finish.
