Trig Brewery Inversion presents a sophisticated Specialty IPA experience that marries the dark aesthetics of Roasted barley and Chocolate malts with a vibrant, modern hop profile. The use of El Dorado, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops produces a high-intensity bouquet of bold berry, tropical pineapple, and resinous pine. On the palate, the smooth roasted coffee flavors of the malt provide a sturdy foundation for stone fruit and citrus notes without descending into acridity. Fermented with a lager yeast to ensure a clean and exceptionally crisp finish, this beer balances firm bitterness with a dry, nimble character that emphasizes drinkability over heavy roast.
Appearance. Deep ebony to opaque black (38 SRM) with a dense, persistent light tan head that leaves significant lacing. Clarity is high, though the intensity of color makes it appear nearly opaque.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of blueberry, mango, and tropical fruit alongside a clean pine resin. Moderate malt character offers hints of unsweetened cocoa and smooth cold-brew coffee. Fermentation is very clean with no perceptible esters or phenols.
Taste. Leading with a bright hop-forward impression of mixed berries and citrus, the flavor transitions into a restrained toasted malt profile. Flavors of chocolate and light roast coffee are present but remain supportive and never burnt. Medium-high bitterness is well-integrated and leads to a very dry, clean finish with a lingering resinous and slightly roasty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, polished texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a crisp effervescence. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-hidden, with no grain-derived astringency.
