Blonde Ale 3.8 º
Trig Brewery’s Corrie presents a sophisticated bridge between traditional English foundations and modern American hop artistry. A classic English blonde malt base provides a smooth, biscuity spine that supports an expressive layering of Azacca, Centennial, and Cascade hops. This results in a refreshing sensory journey where bright tropical fruit notes from the Azacca meld with the classic resinous pine and citrus of Centennial and the floral spice of Cascade. At a sessionable 3.8% ABV, this Blonde Ale maintains a clean fermentation profile, allowing the delicate balance between the old-world malt biscuit and the new-world hop brightness to shine through with refreshing clarity.
Appearance. Pours a bright, brilliant golden straw (SRM 4) with a medium, frothy white head that shows good retention and light lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a harmonious blend of biscuity malt and vibrant hops. Tropical notes of mango and pineapple from the Azacca are prominent, followed by a classic grapefruit citrus and resinous pine from Centennial. Cascade adds a subtle floral and spicy undertone. The fermentation profile is very clean, with only a whisper of light fruity esters.
Taste. Opens with a soft, smooth maltiness reminiscent of fresh biscuits and toasted bread. This is immediately met by a layered hop profile; Azacca provides tropical depth, while Centennial brings a sharp citrus zest and piney resin. Cascade rounds out the palate with a floral, slightly spicy note. Bitterness is medium-low and well-integrated, providing structure without overpowering the malt. The finish is medium-dry and clean, leaving a brief, pleasant aftertaste of citrus peel and biscuit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, approachable texture. Carbonation is moderately high, providing a refreshing, prickly sensation on the tongue. No alcohol warmth is present, and there is no detectable astringency.
