Sequoia is a vibrant Red IPA that captures the essence of the American West. Aggressively hopped with Columbus, Chinook, Nelson, and Simcoe, it delivers a high-intensity aromatic profile defined by zesty orange citrus, sparkling grapefruit, and a deep, resinous pine. These bold hop notes are expertly layered over a sturdy malt foundation featuring rich caramel and toffee undertones. The interaction between the tropical nuances of Nelson and the classic woodsy depth of Chinook creates a complex, multidimensional sensory experience. It finishes with a firm, balancing bitterness that remains clean and as refreshing as mountain air, despite its robust malt character.

Appearance. Deep amber to reddish-copper (12–17 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Topped by a persistent, off-white, creamy foam head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity aroma led by pungent pine resin and citrus zest from the Chinook and Columbus hops. Distinctive notes of white wine grape and tropical passion fruit emerge from the Nelson addition. The hop-forward nose is balanced by a moderate, sweet malt presence of toasted caramel and toffee. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Taste. The palate opens with a sharp burst of grapefruit and orange oil, transitioning quickly into a woody, resinous pine character. Bitterness is firm and assertive, characteristic of the style, but tempered by a medium-low malt sweetness reminiscent of toasted bread and caramel. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering resinous aftertaste and no harsh astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from hop resins. Moderate to high carbonation provides a crisp, refreshing bite. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its strength without being hot.
