The pour reveals an opaque orange hue, signaling a rich, rye-forward grain bill that introduces a distinct malty spice. On the nose, vibrant layers of grapefruit, tropical mango, and zesty blood oranges offer a sweet, fruit-forward invitation. The palate is anchored by the assertive bitterness of Warrior hops, providing structured notes of pine resin and citrus peel. Appearance. Deep opaque orange (6–8 SRM). Large, frothy white head with excellent persistence and heavy lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant citrus notes of blood orange and grapefruit blended with tropical mango. The malt presents as bready with a distinctive peppery, spicy rye edge. Clean fermentation with light peach and apricot esters from the house yeast.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of juicy tropical fruit and citrus peel. Moderate to high hop flavor featuring resinous pine and grapefruit zest from the Warrior hops. The malt provides a supportive grainy sweetness quickly overtaken by a sharp, spicy rye character. Bitterness is firm but smooth, leading to an off-dry, slightly spicy finish with lingering resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Very light alcohol warmth. No astringency despite the rye and hop load.
