La « Rochefort 6 » est la plus ancienne bière trappiste de Rochefort, et a été brassée de manière empirique jusqu'à la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Jusqu'en 1958, c'était la seule bière Rochefort qui était embouteillée à la fois en bouteilles de 33 cl et en bouteilles de 75 cl.

Il a un fort goût de malt et est légèrement amer.
