Cinq matières premières naturelles sont utilisées pour brasser trois bières trappistes: blonde, 8 et 12. Chacune a sa propre couleur, son goût et son arôme. Toutes les bières sont non filtrées et non pasteurisées, avec une fermentation secondaire en bouteille. Tout cela profite à leur goût et à leur arôme. Le trappiste Westvleteren est brassé et mis en bouteille dans l'abbaye et n'est proposé à la vente que sur place. Boîtes en bois de 24 bouteilles dans l'abbaye même et un petit paquet de 6 bouteilles dans le centre de réunion "In de Vrede". Le Trappist Westvleteren répond aux exigences strictes de l'International Trappist Association et porte donc également le logo «Authentic Trappist Product».
