La Trappist Westvleteren 12 es una Belgian Quadrupel reconocible por su corona de color dorado, es la más densa y alcohólica de las tres recetas que la abadía elabora tradicionalmente. Tiene un cuerpo de densidad media, color ambarino muy oscuro. Con una corona de espuma densa, de color praline, y muy persistente. Aromas complejos e intensos con notas destacadas a cereal tostado, fruta pasa, café, chocolate, vainilla y clavo. En boca es corpulenta, igualmente compleja, donde podemos identificar caramelo, pasas, ciruelas, manzana asada, y algunas notas lácticas. Es cremosa en el paso por garganta, alcohólica y deliciosa.

Colore tonaca di frate con riflessi rubino, offre schiuma densa e abbondante color cappuccino, molto persistente. L'aroma è delizioso, complesso, incredibilmente variegato, con note di malto, frutta, in perfetto equilibrio. In bocca è ancor più sorprendente, si ritrovano le sensazioni avvertite al naso, ed un sequenza di sapori sempre diversi ad ogni sorso, che rendono questa birra così speciale. Non è possibile descrivere le inebrianti sensazioni che questa birra ha da offrire, va provata almeno una volta nella vita!
