This massive Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory experience, shaped by 12–18 months of maturation in BLIS maple syrup bourbon barrels. The aroma is an intense fusion of Grade A maple sweetness, rich vanilla, and charred oak, layered over a foundation of dark chocolate and espresso. On the palate, the decadent maple syrup character leads, followed by the complex warmth of bourbon and toasted marshmallows. Subtle notes of black cherry and raisin emerge mid-sip, balanced by a lingering, bittersweet roasted grain finish. At 14.5% ABV, the alcohol provides a steady, comforting warmth that integrates seamlessly into the viscous, velvet-like texture.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, dark tan head that shows low to moderate retention, eventually receding to a fine ring. High viscosity is evident by the prominent legs trailing down the glass.

Aroma. High intensity and extraordinarily complex. Dominant notes of maple syrup, rich bourbon, and vanilla bean blend with deep roasted malts evoking bittersweet chocolate and heavy-roast coffee. Subtle esters of dried plums and figs are complemented by a faint oaky spiciness and a clean, spirit-like alcohol presence.

Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and malty, dominated by maple syrup and dark chocolate. The mid-palate reveals layers of bourbon-soaked oak, molasses, and vanilla. Hop bitterness is moderate-low and largely masked by the residual sugar and rich malt profile. The finish is long and warming, with a lingering aftertaste of roasted coffee beans and caramelized sugar.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's weight. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout, providing a gentle glow without being sharp or solventy.
