Transient Artisan Ales

This Double IPA presents an intense sensory profile driven by a bold trio of Citra, Talus, and Michigan Chinook hops. The aroma leads with a vibrant burst of pink grapefruit, tropical melon, and zesty citrus peel, layered over resinous pine and subtle floral rose undertones. On the palate, the complex hop character delivers layers of stone fruit and crushed pine needles, supported by a lean, grainy malt backbone that ensures a dry, drinkable finish. A firm but smooth bitterness balances the 8% ABV, providing a clean, lingering hoppy aftertaste without harshness, embodying a modern, hop-forward intensity.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7–9 SRM) with a persistent, creamy white head and excellent lacing. Slight haze is present, though the liquid remains largely translucent.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus and tropical fruit notes of grapefruit and passionfruit from Citra and Talus. Michigan Chinook adds a distinctive resinous pine and spicy herbal layer. Background malt is low and neutrally grainy; fermentation is clean with a very light ester profile.

Taste. Initial impression is an assertive hop explosion of grapefruit, pine, and stone fruit. A soft, supportive cracker-like maltiness appears mid-palate but remains unobtrusive. Bitterness is high and firm, reflecting the 60-100 IBU range, yet remains smooth. The finish is medium-dry and crisp with a long-lasting resonance of citrus oils.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from heavy hopping. Moderate carbonation provides a refreshing bite. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, lacking any solventy harshness.
