Sifting is a vibrant American IPA that bridges the gap between classic West Coast precision and modern New Zealand intensity. Brewed on a lean, clean malt base, it showcases a double dry hop charge of Nelson, Riwaka, and Nectaron. This trio provides a powerful sensory experience, leading with pungent white grape, tropical peach, and a citrus-heavy bouquet of mandarin and grapefruit. The modern approach ensures a dry, drinkable finish while maintaining an oily, resinous slickness on the palate. A moderate, integrated bitterness balances the lush fruit notes, resulting in a refined yet punchy expression of Freestyle Hops' premium Southern Hemisphere varieties.

Appearance. Color is a brilliant, deep gold (approx. 7 SRM). It features a medium-sized white head with good persistence and fine lacing, exhibiting excellent clarity consistent with the West Coast style.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by New World tropical and citrus traits. Distinctive notes of crushed white grape and gooseberry are prominent, alongside pungent passion fruit and dank resin cues. Layers of sweet stone fruit and ripe peach follow. Very low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hop presentation with a neutral fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of mandarin orange and grapefruit zest, transitioning into mid-palate flavors of juicy peach and vinous white grape. The malt character is low and crackery, allowing the hops to lead. Bitterness is firm and medium-high but lacks harshness. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic oily, slick resinous texture that coats the tongue. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a refreshing prickle. There is a very smooth, light alcohol warmth and no perceived astringency.
