Track Brewing Company’s Exposure is a vibrant Hazy IPA defined by its pillowy texture and complex New Zealand hop profile. The use of Eggers Special and Rakau hops creates an aromatic journey starting with resinous dank herbs and a hint of mezcal smoke, which quickly gives way to lush tinned pineapple, tangy grapefruit, and stone fruit. On the palate, the soft malt base supports flavors of apricot fromage frais, providing a creamy, fruit-forward experience without excessive bitterness. This medium-full bodied ale concludes with a smooth, juicy finish that highlights the intricate biotransformation of its Southern Hemisphere hops.
Appearance. Pours a deep straw to light gold (4-6 SRM) with a heavy, opaque haze that creates a luminous shine. It is topped by a thick, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity, featuring a unique juxtaposition of dank, herbaceous notes and mezcal-like smokiness against a bright fruit backdrop. Pronounced scents of ripe pineapple, grapefruit zest, and apricot dominate, supported by a low, bready malt character and subtle fruity yeast esters.
Taste. A massive wave of tropical and citrus fruit flavors, including pineapple and tangy grapefruit, leads into a creamy apricot mid-palate. The malt offers a soft, grainy sweetness. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as low due to the soft water profile and full body. The finish is juicy and off-dry with lingering stone fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the smooth delivery. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and no detectable hop astringency.
