This Double IPA presents a hoptimally saturated sensory profile, scaling up a straw yellow, pillowy base into a powerful expression of New Zealand and American hop synergy. The experience is defined by intense aromatic layers of white wine grape and ripe melon, transitioning into zesty grapefruit and a medley of mixed berries on the palate. Despite the 8.5% ABV, the beer maintains high drinkability through a lean malt structure and a smooth, integrated bitterness. The modern, soft texture provides a cushioned backdrop for the vibrant fruit character, finishing dry with a clean, lingering hop presence that avoids harshness.
Appearance. Straw yellow (6 SRM) with a slight, soft haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing and fine bubbles.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent white wine grape, sweet honeydew melon, and bright grapefruit zest. Low, neutral, grainy malt provides a clean background, accompanied by subtle berry esters and a very light, clean alcohol note.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of ripe cantaloupe, Sauvignon Blanc, and ruby red grapefruit. Malt flavor is low and cracker-like, supporting a firm but smooth bitterness. The finish is dry and clean with no heavy residual sweetness, leaving a lingering hop-derived berry and tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably pillowy and soft, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy. Zero hop-derived astringency.
