Imperial IPA 8 º
Orbphobia is a lush Double IPA that bridges the gap between modern tropical intensity and classic hop complexity. An intentional blend of Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic creates a profile bursting with overripe mango, passion fruit, and a distinctive resinous dankness. Extended maturation enhances the richness, allowing a deep, honeyed malt sweetness to support the aggressive hopping. The sensory experience is defined by an interplay of nostalgic pine and citrus from Simcoe and Mosaic, contrasted against the high-impact tropical juice notes characteristic of Galaxy and Citra. It finishes with a smooth, warming presence that underscores its robust 8% strength.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (7-9 SRM). Opaque haze with a thick, long-lasting white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by tropical fruit notes of mango and pineapple, followed by a pungent, dank resin and pine character. Secondary notes of blueberry and citrus zest are present, backed by a clean, lightly sweet grain maltiness.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of tropical fruit nectar and mango. Significant hop flavor mirrors the aroma, with a firm, resinous bitterness that is balanced by a mellow, bready malt sweetness. A moderate bitterness lingers into the finish without being harsh, complemented by a complex berry and stone fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation and a smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth that provides a substantial feel without being solventy.
