Layerphobia is a Triple Dry Hopped Hazy Double IPA that showcases an intricate hop depth through a modern lens. Utilizing T90 pellets alongside Citra Cryo, it presents a thick, textured sensory profile. Intense aromas of tropical citrus from Citra and white wine grapes from Nelson Sauvin are complemented by the distinct soft coconut and floral notes characteristic of Talus. The palate offers fresh berry-like sweetness balanced by a grassy complexity and a deep, citrus-peel bitterness. This 8% ABV ale delivers a creamy, substantial mouthfeel that carries the layered hop character through a smooth, lingering finish.
Appearance. Hazy, pale gold to light orange-copper color. Topped with a dense, persistent, off-white head that leaves substantial lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring bright citrus, tropical mango, and crushed gooseberries. Distinctive notes of coconut, pink grapefruit, and a hint of herbal sage are prominent. Supportive, clean, neutral grain malt is present in the background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors dominated by citrus and white grape. Initial burst of tropical fruit and berry freshness leads into a unique creamy coconut character. Bitterness is firm and peel-like, providing structure without harshness. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering, grassy, hoppy aftertaste and soft malt support.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, creamy body with a noticeable thickness from the heavy dry-hop load. Moderate carbonation. Smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
