This unique interpretation of a Czech Premium Pale Lager marries traditional bready malt depth with modern hop innovation. The use of Styrian Wolf hops in the late kettle additions infuses the profile with distinctive notes of wild strawberry and elderflower, diverging from the typical spicy herbal character of the style. Fermented at warmer temperatures through a steam brewing process, the beer displays an elevated ester profile that heightens the fruity hop qualities. Expect a rich, golden pour with a creamy head, offering a complex interplay between soft, rounded bitterness and a lingering, malt-forward finish that remains crisp and incredibly drinkable.
Appearance. Deep gold color (5 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, long-lasting, creamy white head that exhibits excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Rich, bready-rich malt sweetness provides a base for prominent fruity and floral hop notes of elderflower and ripe berries from the Styrian Wolf additions. Noticeable fruity esters, unusual for the style, provide a light stone-fruit backdrop due to the warm steam brewing fermentation.
Taste. Initial bready, complex maltiness leads into a flavorful mid-palate of soft floral and subtle tropical fruit flavors. The bitterness is prominent but rounded and clean, never harsh. A light fruity ester presence complements the modern hop profile. The finish is long and balanced, with a pleasant lingering bready malt and soft hop character.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, rounded texture. Moderate carbonation. Very low alcohol warmth, consistent with its sessionable strength. No astringency despite the firm hopping rates.
