Birra Toccalmatto

Toccalmatto Maciste is a bold, heroic expression of the Double IPA style, defined by its assertive intensity and extreme aromatic profile. Four separate dry-hop additions of American hops create a layered, resinous, and citrusy nose that dominates the sensory experience. Despite its arrogant hop character and aggressive bitterness, the beer remains remarkably clear and dry on the palate, steering clear of the heavy malt sweetness often found in strong ales. The clean, neutral malt base acts as a subtle canvas for pungent notes of grapefruit peel, pine needles, and tropical fruit. It finishes crisp and punchy, with a well-integrated alcohol warmth that complements its powerful, lingering hop finish.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale copper with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring heavy citrus (grapefruit, lemon zest), resinous pine, and tropical fruit notes. Very low, clean, crackery malt in the background with a faint, smooth alcohol presence and light fruity esters.

Taste. Bold and complex hop flavors of resin, pithy citrus, and pine lead into a powerful, high bitterness that is firm but not harsh. A minimal, clean malt support provides just enough structure before a very dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is long and intensely hoppy.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture from the hop resins. Moderate carbonation provides a lively feel, accompanied by a noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth.

Quattro dry hopping di luppoli americani in quantità incoscienti fanno della Maciste una delle IPA più estreme mai concepite sul suolo italico.
Prodotta con luppoli Simcoe, Chinook, Warrior, Amarillo e Centennial si presenta di color dorato aranciato con un boquet di intensi aromi di frutta tropicale e resina.
Perfetta accompagnata a sapidità intense, come salami cope e prosciutti crudi stagionatissimi.
Salsicce alla griglia, bbq ribs ben glassate, maialino o anatra alla pechinese con cotenna laccata e croccantissima, un originale abbinamento per i salumi cotti della tradizione, cotechini e zamponi, meglio se con il supporto delle note pungenti di una mostarda. Dolci a base di caramello salato.
