Supervulcano is an explosive Imperial Stout that erupts with intense layers of bittersweet chocolate and a deep, smoldering smokiness. Poured from a nitro can, it presents a mesmerizing, uniquely red-tinted foam over a jet-black body. The addition of lava salt enhances the rich malt depth, while a gentle prickle of chili heat builds alongside notes of roasted coffee and dark fruit. At 11% ABV, the warmth is well-integrated, providing a velvety, full-bodied experience. The interplay of savory salt, spicy capsicum, and decadent cocoa creates a complex, volcanic sensory profile that lingers with a smooth, warming finish.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Features a unique, thick, volcano-red head with fine nitro bubbles and exceptional retention leaving dense, creamy lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted espresso, and a distinct campfire smoke. Subtle esters of dried plum and raisin are present, complemented by an earthy chili pepper note and a hint of savory salinity.
Taste. Initial impression is of decadent dark chocolate and charred grain. The palate develops with a medium-high bitterness balanced by malt sweetness and a savory touch from lava salt. A gentle chili heat provides a spicy counterpoint to the roasted depth. The finish is long and bittersweet with a lingering warmth.
Mouthfeel. Full and viscous with a chewy, luscious texture. The nitro pour provides a velvety, creamy mouthfeel with very low perceived carbonation. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present without being sharp.
