At an approachable 4.6% ABV, Reality Rocks delivers a vibrant sensory experience characteristic of a modern American IPA. This collaboration for the Cph:dox festival presents a bright, hop-forward profile led by intense citrus and tropical fruit notes. The aroma is punchy and resinous, supported by a lean, grainy malt base that ensures the hop character remains the focal point. Despite its sessionable strength, the palate is defined by a firm, clean bitterness and a dry finish, making it exceptionally refreshing while maintaining the assertive complexity expected from the style. The result is a crisp, aromatic ale where the hop-derived oils provide depth without heavy alcohol weight.
Appearance. Medium gold (6-8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, frothy white head that shows good persistence and leaves light lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, pineapple, and subtle pine resin. Low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation is very clean with minimal fruity esters.
Taste. Initial hop-forward flavors of citrus peel and tropical fruit. Low, cracker-like malt sweetness is present but quickly overtaken by a medium-high bitterness. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, clean hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, clean texture. Carbonation is medium-high, contributing to a refreshing, lively mouthfeel. No alcohol warmth or astringency present.
