Appearance. SRM 6–10. Deep gold to burnt orange with a persistent hazy to opaque clarity. Pours with a moderate off-white head that may show limited retention due to the high alcohol content and acidity, leaving fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant Citra hop character of grapefruit and tropical fruit mingles with fresh papaya, ripe mango, and the floral sweetness of apricot. Zesty lemon and orange oils provide a sharp top note, all underpinned by a clean, lactic sourness and minimal bready malt character.
Taste. A bold initial impression of sharp lactic acidity is immediately met by a concentrated tropical fruit punch. Flavors of mango and apricot are prominent, followed by a firm hop bitterness that provides a resinous counterpoint to the fruit. The orange and lemon zest add a bright, pithy complexity. The finish is moderately dry with lingering citrus zest and a well-integrated alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeable alcohol warmth consistent with its strength. Moderate carbonation provides a prickly lift, cutting through the fruit density. A slight acidic crispness is present, with very low astringency from the fruit skins and zest.
