This 2018 edition of Mr. Brown is an opulent Imperial Stout that delivers an intense sensory journey. Pouring a deep, opaque brown, it radiates a complex bouquet of freshly roasted coffee beans, vinous cognac, and the distinct, resinous spice of cedar spirals. The palate is decadently full-bodied and velvety, layering bittersweet chocolate and espresso against the sophisticated warmth of oak-aged spirits. Appearance. Opaque, ranging from very dark reddish-brown to jet black. Features a well-formed, deep tan to dark brown head with moderate retention and visible viscosity that leaves legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; rich roasted malt profile of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, and cocoa. Prominent vinous cognac notes and aromatic, spicy cedar. Low dark fruit esters of prunes and raisins with a smooth, noticeable alcohol presence.
Taste. Complex and intense initial impression of dark roasted grains and cold-brew coffee. Mid-palate reveals spirituous cognac, vanilla-like oak, and a resinous, woody cedar character.
