The presence of lactose from the milk stout base provides a velvety, decadent foundation that balances the assertive 11% ABV. Rich notes of charred oak and dark spirit intermingle with a robust roasted malt profile, offering a seductive complexity. The finish is lingering and bittersweet, echoing with warmth and luxurious chocolate, embodying a masterfully integrated marriage of spirit and stout character.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (SRM 40+). Pours with a thick, deep tan head that shows moderate retention, leaving visible oily legs on the glass indicative of high alcohol and viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of milk chocolate, vanilla bean, and toasted oak. Prominent bourbon spirit character with background notes of dark fruit like raisins and figs. Low earthy hop aroma.
Taste. Bold initial impression of sweet chocolate and creamy vanilla. Mid-palate reveals roasted grain, espresso, and charred oak from the spirit-soaked wood. The bitterness is moderate but well-countered by residual lactose sweetness. Finishes long and sweet with a harmonious interplay of roast and bourbon.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is moderate-low. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present but remains well-integrated and background-focused.
